OOTD: Cinema

Blouse: New Look, Cardigan: New Look, Bag: River Island, Jeans: George at Asda, Cardigan: New Look

I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while.  I feel really bad and I hope that none of you have lost interest in my posts because of this.  I have been tied up with quite a lot of things recently and I know that this is not a good enough excuse but I hope that all of you will understand and not lose interest in my posts.
So for today, I decided it might be quite fun to do another OOTD.  This is the outfit I wore about a week ago to the cinema to watch Titanic as it was the 100th anniversary.  I love Titanic; it is one of my all time favourite films.  I am not much of a cryer when it comes to films but this is the only film that makes me cry every time, possibly because Leonardo Dicaprio is so gorgeous and I cannot bare to see him die haha.
I like this look because it is pretty sophisticated whilst being relaxed as I have paired it with a cardigan and jeans.  I love the River Island bag as it has a lot of the colours that match the colours of the clothes I am wearing.  It is a pretty basic look but that is what I love about it because you do not want to wear something too complicated and confusing on the eye.
I also really love the heels!  The colours of the shoes also match the outfit and I really love the contrast between black and white, finished off with a bow to add a girly touch.

I hope you liked my little ensemble.  If you have any recommendations or ideas for future posts which you would like me to write about, I would love to hear them :)
Thank you :)

My Favourite Television Programmes

So, for lack of a better post, I decided it would be quite a fun idea to share with you all my favourite Television Programmes so that maybe it could give you guys a good idea of some other programmes you could start watching and also share with you a part of my personality, i suppose, because these are the sort of things I find funny or just generally entertaining.  So without further ado and in no particular order, here are my favourite programmes:
1)  90210- I had to include this as it is most definitely one of my favourite programmes.  I do not care much for soaps, especially English soaps, but I must admit I do quite enjoy the odd American soap and 90210 is definitely worth watching.  I think it has the sort of gossip that anyone would wish they had at their school.  It is on 4OD every Tuesday I think, so please go ahead and check that out :)
2)  Cougar town- I LOVE this programme!  Please watch this programme because I absolutely love this style of comedy.  If there is anyone out there, any of my followers, who would quite like to get to know me, then please watch at least one episode of this because this is my sense of humour is very similar to this style of comedy.  Each programme is only around 20 minutes long and it's just a very relaxing programme to watch and for all of those Courtney Cox fans out there, you will love this :)
3)  Modern Family- I am not sure if there is one person who cannot relate to any of these families in this programme.  It is a hilarious programme that will no doubt have you saying 'that is so like my family'.  I really love this programme, it is yet again another relaxing thing to be watching on the television and I would highly recommend watching at least one of these episodes.
4)  Hot In Cleveland- I really love this programme, it is about three middle-aged women who move to Cleveland after having lived in LA.  It is yet another relaxing programme to watch (notice a pattern a occurring?) and it really is hilarious.
5)  The middle- This is about a pretty average American family whose problems are a little ridiculous at times but make you feel better about the tiny things you fret over.  Sue Heck is my favourite character (which may confuse those of you who haven't watched this programme) as she is such a positive person even though she is constantly and hilariously put down by others and in some ways I really do aspire to be like her.
6)  Miranda- My final favourite programme I am going to mention today is Miranda, the only british programme mentioned.  I love british humour, it is undoubtedly my favourite type of humour and this programme is such a great representation of that.  I also think 'An Idiot Abroad' gives a great representation of what we are like as well.  I know there aren't very few decent british programmes and if there are any people abroad, wondering what the English are like then please watch this and erase the perfect, well-spoken, tea drinking (although I do love tea) image of us from your mind :P

Well, these are all my favourite programmes and I really do hope some of you will give them a watch and please comment if you enjoyed them, it would make my day :)
What are your favourite programmes?

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day :)

Mini Haul!

I recently realised that I have yet to do a haul post and I thought it was time I did so, so here are the few items I have bought over the last couple of days:

This headscarf was bought from New Look

I was really eager to buy this headscarf from New Look as I think these colours and this style are perfect for Spring.  It is such a cute, feminine accessory that can definitely complete a look and add a girly touch.

This necklace was bought from New Look and you can purchase here
(buy one get one free on selected jewellery pieces)

When I saw this necklace, I HAD to have it!  I have very few statement jewellery pieces and I think, paired with a plain top, this really will steal an outfit and draw attention to yourself.  I think it also gives a really sophisticated, yet edgy, feel about it and I will hopefully be including it in a few OOTD's to come :)

These earrings were bought from New Look and you can purchase here
(buy one get one free on selected jewellery pieces)

This next jewellery piece is also from new look and it's a funny story really because I was finding it difficult to choose between this and the necklace above because I did not want to buy too much that day.  When I went up to the till to buy this item, luck would have it that all jewellery items were on a buy-one-get-one-free deal that I happened to have missed the sign for.  So I ran down the stairs to grab this and it really was a very lucky bargain :)  I love these earrings.  I think the fruit is so cheerful and colourful.

Maybelline Primer- you can purchase here from Boots

Now, onto cosmetics, I have been eyeing up the new Maybelline Primer for quite sometime.  Ever since I received a few samples of this after ordering a few things online, I have been desperate to get it.  It is quite mattifying, which probably isn't best for someone with dry skin like me, but miraculously it seems to still work wonders.  It gives a very healthy glow to all skin types, making your skin so soft and smooth.  Personally, I do not think you would even have to wear foundation or a tinted moisturiser with this, it would probably do your skin some good just to wear this on its own.  Although it is only 7ml worth of product, a little really does go a long way and I think it would last you a fairly long time.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters- you can purchase here from Boots
(3 for 2 Mix and Match)

So the final products I am listing today, and definitely the most exciting ones are of course the Revlon Lip Butters.  For those of you who live in America, you are probably bored of hearing about these, but for us Brits it is terribly exciting as they have only just been released!  I only bought these two days ago and I already LOVE them!  The colours I bought (Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait and Creme Brûlée) are so perfect for Spring and Summer.  I have a fairly pale complexion but I think they will work on nearly all complexions.  I love that these lip products are so moisturising, you do not need to prepare your lips at all!  They look so beautiful for all occasions.  One of the things I love the most about them is that although they are all pretty pigmented, they all seem to look so natural and definitely not overdone.  All-in-all they are fantastic products!!
If any of you would like me to do a full review on the Revlon Lip Butters (swatches and all) please leave a comment and I would be very happy to do so.

Have a great day everyone,
Thank you :)

Happy Easter everyone!

My Easter egg :)

Today, of course, is Easter Sunday!  I hope you all are having, have had, or have yet to have had (that was a mouthful :P), depending on where you are in the world, a fantastic Easter!  Make sure to relax and really enjoy this holiday and don't worry about eating too much chocolate, you can always burn the calories off tomorrow :P
As you can see from the picture above, I received a mini eggs Easter egg, do you guys like the setting I put my Easer egg in?  I thought it made it look pretty :)  What Easter eggs did you all receive?
If anyone is interested, I will hopefully have a mini haul post up for you guys tomorrow, including the Revlon Lip Butters!!!  I can't wait!  But for now, like I said before, just enjoy and savour the rest of the day,

Easter-inspired NOTD

Just because I couldn't resist

Nail polishes used (from left to right): claire's mint green, Superdrug top coat,
MaxFactor Chilled Lilac, Beauty Colour White.

As Easter is just around the corner, I decided to decorate my nails for the occasion.  The great thing about Easter nail designs is that it's okay for the design to be a little messy.  The childish sort of look is the look you want for this occasion.  I only used 3 nail polish colours to create this look: a mint green, a white and a lilac (and of course a top coat).  I probably would have used a pale yellow if I had one available to me but unfortunately I did not so I just had to make do with those that were available to me.  To create this look, you really can just play around with any colours and any cute design and I'm sure it will turn out great!
What I also love about Easter nail designs is that they almost always consist of pastel colours which happen to be very in this Spring.
I couldn't forget that this is the holiday for chocolate eggs and cupcakes and all sorts of yummy treats.  As my sister and I were baking a few cupcakes yesterday, I couldn't resist but include one of them in one of the pictures :)
I hope you all have a lovely, relaxing Easter.
Thank you :)

Mermaid NOTD

Today I used another nail polish from the Max Factor Mini Nail Polish range.  This was the first of their nail polishes that I have purchased and my favourite nail polish EVER.  The picture really does not do it justice.  In some lights, it is a gorgeous greeny turquoise and in others it is a beautiful dazzling blue (hence the name, 'Dazzling Blue').
I named this post 'Mermaid NOTD' because it reminded me of the sea at its best, and it may sound a bit silly but it also reminded me of a mermaid's tail.  This really is such a stunning colour and at £3.99 from Boots, it really is a steal.
If you are a regular reader of my blog then you may know that I love the Max Factor Mini Nail Polishes and intend to do a review on the range at some point.  Another of their nail polishes is 'Chilled Lilac' which I also love, and is perfect for Spring which you can check out here.

Garnier Gradual Tanning Lotion Review

Before use

After use

Packaging

So I have started using this Garnier gradual fake tanning lotion in light sun-kissed look instead of deep because I was worried about looking orange.  The after shot was taken after 7 days of daily use after the before shot.  I hope you have noticed some difference.  It is very difficult to show you an exact colour of something with a camera but I personally do quite like the sun-kissed look it gives.  You do not have to use very much to cover your whole leg, it never streaks (or has not so far, at least) and it is a pretty cheap product (I bought it for £5.06 at Superdrug, but it is now half price, at £2.53 AND Superdrug are having free delivery on all orders at the moment so go check that out NOW).  Because it is a gradual tanner, it is mostly moisturiser and so will not stain anything.
Personally, I do not think it smells bad which is definitely something to mention as a lot of these fake tanning products smell awful.  This product doesn't smell great but it doesn't smell as bad as some of these types of products and the smell nearly completely wears off throughout the day.  It smells a little fruity as it has extract of apricot, which is a nice touch.
All in all, I think this is a great product to invest in, especially for those of you who are new to the world of fake tanning and do not want to try out anything difficult to use or that might go wrong.
If I have missed anything out (which I probably have) or you just want to ask a question, don't hesitate to leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thank you :)
