Cute Spring Outfit- How to style Spring scarfs

Bag- New Look, Vest- Hollister Co., Scarf- New Look, Bangles- Accessorize, Shorts- Topshop, Wedges- New Look
I really love this Spring outfit.  It is so colourful and relaxed and could be worn on so many occasions.  I'm sorry I have just copied and pasted pictures instead of actually wearing this outfit but unfortunately I do not own enough of these sorts of items to show you.  Hopefully, I will soon buy some of these items and at some point do an OOTD similar to this.  The scarf is a very key item in this outfit.  I think Spring scarfs will be very popular this season and I hope they are because they really liven up an outfit meaning you can pair them with a simple top and shorts like in this outfit.
I really love the wedges as well.  They are great for Spring and Summer as they lengthen your legs and put them on display, showing off a beautiful tan if you have one.  Big, bulky, colourful bangles are great for this season as well and are a must-have accessory.
I specifically chose a vest from Hollister for this look because they are known to have simple but beautiful, feminine tops.  Most of their tops and vests have pretty detailing like this one.
As you can see a lot of these items are from New Look.  I love New Look because their items are great quality and very reasonably priced.  New Look have a free delivery offer on just for today!  So be sure to check that out :)

I hope you all have a great day,
Thank you :)

First NOTD

Today has been another beautiful, sunny day for those in the South West and I decided to brighten up my nail polish as well to match the gorgeous weather.  Recently I have been wearing a lot of autumnal nail polishes which really are gorgeous but the complete wrong season to be wearing them.  I just bought this nail polish a few days ago, it is a matte, light lilac colour and I love it!  I really love the pastel theme this Spring and want to make the most of it so there is no doubt that I will be reaching for this nail polish quite often in its lifetime.  This is a Maxfactor nail polish and incase you cannot read what is written on the packaging, it says: MaxFacor, Max Effect, Mini Nail Polish and it is in the shade "Chilled Lilac".  I must remind myself to do a review on these nail polishes at some point.  I have bought five in the past couple of weeks and cannot fault them.  They retail at £3.99 and they are on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment so be sure to pick a few up when you next see them.

Just as a quick side note, I will hopefully be doing a gradual fake tan lotion review by the end of this week if any of you are interested.
I hope you all have had a lovely day so far,
Thank you :)

Experimenting with henna

So a few days ago, I let my friend do a henna tattoo on me.  It was just a bit of fun really.  I asked her what she was good at drawing and she said a snail so I said that would be a cool henna tattoo.  And obviously it went a bit wrong.  Here is the end result:

I'm not sure if you can see that so well, it has faded over the past couple of days.  My sister accidentally smudged it in a collision between the two of us just a few minutes after I had gotten it done and so now it just looks a bit like a strange spiral.
I know this is a bit of an odd post, I just thought it might make some of you laugh.

Have a great day everyone and don't forget to follow,
Thank you :)

Spring Beauty Trends

Bold brows
Bold, heavy brows were flooding the catwalk during London Fashion week.
To recreate this look, pencil fine strokes around your natural brow shape.

The cat-eye
This beautiful makeup technique has been a loved trend for decades but has recently accelerated in use.

Rosy pink lips
Now although the catwalks are swamped with harsh, angled facial features, we must remember that Spring time should also be a time filled with gentle, colourful looks.  There is no better way to soften up a look than to style some effortless, rosy pink lips.  They really do complement any face shape.

Dewy, fresh face
Fresh, Dewy appearances are great for the Summer and Spring.  They make your skin glow and save you money on your full coverage foundations.  Try to steer clear of any foundations that are heavy.  You’ll need to reach for your moisturisers a lot this season. Tinted moisturisers or bb creams are great products, also.  I think you could even wear a skin primer on it’s own to achieve this appearance.  This fresh, dewy look looks great when accompanied with a nice highlighter and remember to steer clear of any mattifying products.

A pop of colour
Spring is the season, if any, to show a bit of imagination and be more colourful.  Play around with your neglected vibrant eyeshadows.  Who knows, you might actually end up discovering a beautiful looks that really suits you.  For those of you who do not want to be as adventurous with the eyeshadow palette, why not try splashing a bit of colour on your lower lash line instead of your eyelids.  This way the look is not so intense but still makes someone look twice at a subtle colour which complements your eyes to make them pop.

Gentle, wavy locks
This last look is for hair and a look I think just screams Spring.  I love the appearance, it is effortlessly gorgeous, such a simple, innocent look.  I love glossy hair all year round but especially during Summer and Spring when your hair has a lot more life to it.  Curls are such a pretty way to style your hair and will make heads turn, for sure, when you walk by.

Thank you :)

First OOTD

High waisted shorts: New Look, Peachy, Pinky polkadot top: Primark, Necklace: Accessorize
The sun is finally out, and that means we're able to whip out those hidden summer clothes we never thought would ever leave our cupboards!
I went straight to the shops yesterday to buy some high waisted shorts as I have been craving some.  I actually found myself settling for some lovely black high waisted shorts (not so Spring-like, I know, but I still love them).

I really like high waisted shorts because they are very slimming and figure-hugging, not to mention they beautifully extend your legs, giving you a more model-esque figure.  I just added the necklace for jazz as it is my fave :)  I really love pendant-style necklaces because they can be worn with the simplest of clothes and really complete an outfit.

Thank you :)

My miracle powder!

About two weeks ago, I decided to order a Mac lipstick off of the Debenhams website as it was free delivery at the time and beauty products were around 10% off.  I was delighted to see that I had been given a freebee when I received the delivery.  The sample was bare Minerals original foundation in medium beige which happened to be nearly the perfect colour for me and it literally saved my life!  I was lucky enough to have been given an extremely generous sample size of the product which will probably last me a lifetime as I use so little.  I actually started to think I had accidentally ordered it because it didn't really look like just a sample.  It looks pretty small and extremely adorable but again, a little goes a long way.  In this sample I also received a cute little kabuki-style brush.  Here is what the sample looks like:

I never really ventured near the bare Minerals section before, probably because it is extremely expensive (now I know why it is so expensive), so I was really glad that I was sent this sample as I would have never tried it otherwise.
At the time when I received the sample, I had a rather noticeable blemish on my nose (I never really get spots on my face but unfortunately have a nose highly prone to breaking out) and no matter how much I used, concealer just wasn't going to cover it.  I used my normal Rimmel stay matte concealer which I use for hiding blemishes and added this powder over the top and honestly it was COMPLETELY GONE, unnoticeable, like it had never been there!  I could not believe it, especially since I had used so little.  What's more, it lasted the whole day, which consisted of me walking around in the cold and wet outside a lot and my nose didn't even go red (which is an everyday occurrence for me).
Overall, I am so pleased with this product and is another I would highly recommend.

Hope this has helped,
Thank you :)

A Completely Free Way to Wash Your Makeup Brushes

So I have now found a great way to wash makeup brushes, and it is completely free!
If you do not want to splurge on a brush cleanser or you do not know what to buy, then why not
I used to hardly ever wash my makeup brushes (I know, probably not such a cunning plan) because I didn't really know what to buy and wear to buy it but somewhere I read that a weak shampoo works as a good brush cleanser so I jumped at the opportunity, seeing as it is free.
What I did was fill the sink (with the plug in) with lukewarm water, making a sort of mini bath, if you like.  Then I squirted a very small amount of shampoo in, you really do only need a tiny amount, less is more in this situation.  Personally, I do not think it matters whether the shampoo is scented or not, I used a scented shampoo and it does not make one difference to the smell of my brushes.  Then facing the head of the brushes downwards, so as not to get any water stuck in the brush, I washed it, thoroughly, with my hands for around 30 seconds.  After a couple brushes time, I changed the water.  After leaving them over night to dry, I can honestly say they never looked so healthy.  I guess I never realised how bad they were getting until I noticed how different they looked afterwards :P
I now really love this method of washing brushes.  I'm sure many of you will probably have heard of it and you probably think I must be mad, raving about it after it has been out in the open for so long but I really am amazed by how well it works :)
In my opinion, if you do not want to splurge on a brush cleanser or you do not know what to buy, then you really should try this amazing method!

Thank you :)

January and February Favourites!

So today I am going to do my first favourites post!
I will not be doing favourites every month just because I don't buy a lot of cosmetic items within one month and so I will hopefully be doing this every other month or every three months or something like that.

Cosmetics
1) My first favourite cosmetic item is L'oreal False Lash Telescopic mascara in magnetic black.  I really like this because I honestly don't think I have ever owned a mascara with as thin and long a brush like this one has.  It lengthens your lashes with just a few strokes and really does give that sort of false look (but in a good way).  It won't really make your lashes very thick or give it much more volume (can you get volume on lashes?  I don't really know what I'm talking about) but I personally think it is such a great mascara to invest in.  It is not very expensive at the price of £10.99 but I got it on sale for £5.99 at Superdrug a few weeks ago.
2) My second favourite cosmetic item is the No7 Liplicious Moisturising balm in Angel cake.  I only have the sample size because I got it for Christmas but I will hopefully be purchasing it in full size.  I like that it is not runny, yet not thick and sticky, the texture is altogether very nice.  I also like that it has a little bit of a glittery shimmer to it and it does not dry your lips out which is always a plus.
3) My next cosmetic favourite is the benefit eyebright.  I LOVE this.  It is pretty much a light pink jumbo eye pencil which you use as a sort of concealer to brighten up dark circles.  It works so well because it is the perfect colour to council out those purply, almost greyish bags (sorry if that sounds a bit creepy).  And it changes them into such a nice glow under your eyes that it looks like you've had the longest sleep ever.  i personally like to use this as a base for my concealer which i wear lightly because I already have eyebright underneath.
4) So my next favourite is actually the concealer I wear over the top of benefit eyebright, and that is L'oreal Touche Magique.  I wouldn't call this a concealer so much as an illuminator which I think it is anyway.  It reminds me of the YSL Touche éclat .... if I were ever to own that product.  I probably would not use this concealer if you like thick coverage concealer but if you do not have very dark under eyes, it will probably work quite nicely or over the top of a regular concealer, which is how I like to use it.
5) So for my last favourite makeup item, I have The Mac Mineralize skin finish Natural in the shade 'Light'. I only bought this around mid- February and was debating putting it in this favourites post because I haven't had it for very long but I couldn't resist :P  I love this just because it leaves your skin so silky soft with practically one brush of it.  I do not really like wearing foundation so I usually wear it on top of moisturised skin so that my skin does not dry out as I have very dry skin already.  I like to use it over my concealer so that it will keep my concealer in place for longer than usual and I just basically use it all around my face.  It truly is a must-have product and it will last so long, it's definitely worth it!
6) I'm not really sure if this is a cosmetic product or not, but I guess so and that is the Maxfactor Max Effect mini nail polishes, specifically in the shade Dazzling Blue, but I love all of them.  I probably should't say I love all of them because I only have two, but i bought three for my friend's Birthday and I wild definitely be buying more because they are 3 for 2 in boots and only £3.99 on their own.  I like these because there pretty cheap and they are small which I love because it annoys me when nail polishes are so pricey but in huge bottle because I'm thinking that I will never be able to use all that up so they may swell halve the quantity and the price.  Dazzling Blue is such a gorgeous colour because  it's a sort of greeny blue and it changes under light which is so beautiful and prefect for spring!

Fashion
1) So my first fashion favourite of these months are my pink jeans!  I talked about pink jeans in a previous post and have finally bought some.  But I bought them In New Look instead of topshop and they were only £16.99.  They are so perfect for Spring and what I love about them is that even though they are obviously pink, they're still so wearable because they're such a light pink that they are sort of a fashion statement but then also pretty casual at the same time.

2) My next fashion favourite of these months has to be my nude New Look pumps.  I have been wanting some nude pumps for a while and finally bought some.  I really love them, they are so useful for Summer and Spring and since the weather has been really nice recently, I have been able to get a lot of wear out of them :)
3) My third fashion favourite are just plain shirts in general.  In particular, I love my plain black new Look shirt, which is a sort of sheer, chiffon material, I bought it for £14.99, but unfortunately it is now sold out. Another favourite shirt of mine is my plain white Topshop shirt which I purchased for £15, it is long at the back and shorter at the front and it is just such a lovely soft material and so easy to wear any day, casually or dressed up.

4) So my final favourite of this month is a Jack Wills Gilet I recieved for Christmas.  I love this so much, it is so cuddley and warm and I want to wear it all the time (or whenever it is cold, at least).  I have been getting so much wear out of it this January and February and even though I have not been getting a lot of wear out of it these past couple of weeks since it's been so warm and will probably not be able to so much from now on this year, it will remain being such a huge favourite clothing item of mine.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this and that it has maybe given you a few ideas of a couple things you might want to buy :)
Thank you :)
