Purple eye FOTD

So here are a few pictures of the purple eye make up look I did yesterday to match my gorgeous fake nails mentioned in the previous post.  I really just wanted to do something cute and sort of princess-y yet not too overpowering and this is the look I ended up with.  Purple is such a great colour to go with, when in doubt, because it goes with all skin tones, eye colours, hair colours and so on.  I really don't think you can go wrong with purple.
As it may be a tad difficult for me to describe, in detail, how you can achieve this look, I am going to send you to a youtube video (not by myself) which is so helpful and is what I used as a guideline to help me achieve this look.  So go and watch that here; it is very useful and I hope you enjoy :)

Products I used:
- Rimmel Stay Matte concealer
- Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer
- Ecotools concealer brush
- Ecotools powder brush
- Mac skin finish natural

- Body Collection Blusher
- Mabelline intense XXL mascara

Review: 88 eyeshadow palette

As many of you will know, eyeshadows are beauty essentials.  They are possibly the most commonly used makeup product and can create a look all on their own.
So when buying eyeshadows, it is very tricky as they are sold everywhere and it is difficult to know which ones to buy.

This is my 88 eyeshadow palette.  It does not have a brand, the casing is completely black with nothing on it.  You can buy these really cheaply on the internet on various websites such as eBay.  I think this is a great set of eyeshadows to start off with because they are very cheap, there are so many colours, that it can cater for almost all looks, including matte and shimmery colours.  It is probably not best if you want something that you can easily travel around with as it is so big but it's very helpful for cute looks that you want to do at home.
This palette is so great for those of you who are looking to buy nice beauty products on a budget!  But if you have the money to splurge you'll probably be looking for palettes such as the Urban Decay Naked/ Naked 2 palette or some of the Too Faced eyeshadow palettes, as mentioned in a previous post.
I think eyeshadows is one of the few makeup products that it is okay to buy cheaply because as long as its pretty pigmented and blendable, you can create as many looks as you want.  If you want your eyeshadow to stay on for a long time, that really depends on what primer you use and not so much the staying power of the eyeshadow you use.

The browns and goldeny colours of this palette are my favourite, mainly because i think it's nice to go for some more subtle, natural looks and I have to say for the price of this product, the eyeshadows really are very nice.
All of these colours are pretty pigmented, I did debate swatching them but I don't think I have enough space on my arm for 88 different colours :P

I hope this has been helpful,
Thank you :)

The natural look :)

So for this Summer, i am hoping to go for a lot of natural makeup looks.

This is my favourite natural eye look.  I found it on the internet and I thought it was so beautiful!  To achieve this look you will need some brown shimmery colours all over the lid, a favourite black eyeliner pencil of yours to tight line your eyes.  This makes it look as if you are wearing no eyeliner yet still making a visible impact which is perfect for the natural look you are going for.  As you can see, this person has used a beautiful light brown eyeliner to line her waterline.  It may just be the lighting but I think that is what she has done and I would do also when doing this look.  Her eyelashes look long but not overdone so as to look fake.  I would recommend the Maybelline "full and soft" mascara to achieve this looks because it gives you a very natural appearance however my personal favourite mascara is L'oreal's False Lash telescopic mascara.  It does give a sort of false appearance (in a good way) but when applied lightly can look fairly natural.
This person has clearly highlighted the inner corner of their eye and also the brow bone with a light shimmery colour.
I have not purchased either of these products but I think they would be really great for achieving this natural look or any other natural looks (or just any looks, really) in the future:
Too faced Naked eye palette

Urban Decay Naked palette

I think both of these palettes would be perfect for this look.  Also, I know that the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is now out which would also work very well for this look.  Like I said, I do not own either of these products but am hoping to buy one of them very soon.  If any of you have either of these products or any brown eyeshadow palettes please leave a comment saying what you like or dislike about them and if you think they are worth purchasing because I would really love to know :)

I hope this has been helpful,
Thank you :)

Spring makeup

Although Spring may still be a way away, it's one of the things I really look forward to after Christmas is over.
I wanted to think of a beautiful Spring makeup look and since Spring is such a colourful season I decided to incorporate that into my look.
The eyes are the focusing point of this look because, as I believe all eyes are stunning, you want to direct the attention to your eyes.  Anything colourful will work perfectly for this look, as long as it softened with a complimenting crease colour to give more of a 3D affect.  The eyes in the picture are slightly over the top for an everyday look but you get the idea.  This picture is simply off of the internet.  It is not my look but i thought it was so beautiful and wanted to use it to at least give you some idea of look i'm going for.  Because you want this look to look soft, a nude lip would be perfect especially since you don't want to direct any of the attention away from the eyes.  As we hope for it to be sunny this Spring I would advise a tinted moisturiser for this look because i think a full coverage foundation is too cakey for a summery look.  A favourite foundation of yours would work as well but I personally think a tinted moisturiser works best since I don't like my face to be cakey at all and because it's moisturising, it gives you a natural glow which is so beautiful for this look.

I am new to blogging and am open to people's advise and opinions.
Thank you :)
